The Indian furniture market is expected to reach US$ 26.85 billion by 2028 from US$ 15.79 billion in 2023

WOFX – World Furniture Expo is India’s focused B2B international trade fair dedicated to the furniture and design industry and will take place from 28-30 November, 2023 at the Bombay Exhibition Center, Mumbai.

The 2023 edition of WOFX promises to be bigger, bolder and broader, giving a boost to India’s booming furniture & décor industry by connecting renowned international brands from over thirteen countries with industry stakeholders from India & South Asia.

WOFX creates global business opportunities for businesses by showcasing multiple international country pavilions from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Bangladesh as well as participation by exhibitors from Singapore, Vietnam, Turkiye, France, Italy, Hong Kong, China, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and India.

The presence of international country pavilions is testament to the global recognition and collaboration that WOFX fosters as an international business connector. The event creates a strong marketplace where Indian businesses can explore potential collaborations and partnerships with international counterparts, paving the way for increased exports, economic growth, and employment opportunities.

The Indian furniture market is showing great promise for suppliers and brands as it is expected to reach US$ 26.85 billion by 2028, growing at 11.20% CAGR as per Mordor Intelligence. At the same time, India’s real estate is booming with FY23 seeing new records with home sales 36% higher than FY22. Similarly, India’s hospitality sector is adding 12,000 rooms in 2023-24 and looking to attract ~$2.3 billion investments by 2028.

It has also been observed that the pandemic changed the outlook of people who have started investing more in their homes and lifestyle, bringing about a perceptible growth in the sales of home furniture. The work from home (WFH) culture saw customers quickly turn to recliners, desks, foldable kitchen nooks, laptop stands and sofas to best optimise the limited space at home for multi-functionality.

Remote workers also started to look for furniture that is comfortable with a mix of cool and casual designs, yet formal. This trend has endured till date. Lifestyle changes have also prompted people investing in second homes which has resulted in a huge demand for outdoor furniture.

WOFX captures these emerging trends and brings together manufacturers of all categories of furniture for home, office, outdoor, kids, decorative, modular, institutional, amongst others and connect them with the right buyers such as dealers, distributors, retailers, franchisees, architects, interior designers, real estate and infrastructure developers, institutional buyers, corporate sourcing heads and others.

At the same time, WOFX goes beyond being a mere exhibition; it's an immersive learning experience. Seminars, conferences, and design talks are curated to provide visitors with the latest trends, technology, and market dynamics. These sessions are instrumental in helping the Indian industry remain competitive.

Rajesh Bhagat, Chairman & Managing Director of Worldex India, the organizer of WOFX said, “WOFX assists the industry to capitalise on India’s growing market demands especially considering that both commercial and residential real estate as well as the hospitality and retail sectors are booming. At the same time, with these sectors catering to the next generation of consumers with more exposure to global design trends, WOFX is currently the only trade show connecting all these industries with Indian and global furniture and design brands on one, single platform.”
